Luke Daniels and the long road to Sheltered!

So last year, I auditioned for Max Abaddon by Justin Leslie, and as is typical with me, I sent in about 14 versions with slight variation, different voices and character interpretations in order to wear down the author to finally picking me!!!! Pick me! Pick ME! WELLL. Justin almost did! I actually lost the part to one of the most prolific narrators in the business. Luke Daniels has over 450 titles to his name and so when Justin told me I lost the gig, I was bummed but I totally got it. In the Urban Fantasy world there are a lot of great series but there are probably 2 that really set the standard for everyone else. One is the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher (which I got to read a short story from) and the Iron Druid Series by Kevin Hearne. Luke Daniels is the narrator for the Iron Druid soooooo…..I lost to a celebrity basically! No problem.

I had basically forgotten about my audition for Max Abaddon and truthfully I considered it a badge of honor to lose to Luke so i was fine with it. A few months past and I got a message from Justin Leslie! He had liked my voice and wrote a series with me in mind! It is called the Sinking Man series! The first book is called Sheltered and is now for sale on audible. It follows the life of a lone survivor in an apocalypse scenerio and all of the terrible things he has to got through to survive! AS a huge fan of The Walking Dead ( I had a podcast about it with a few friends) I was very excited! I can’t believe that Justin is using me! What an honor to work with such a talented author, I look forward to part two soon!
